Donated Space in Englewood CO for Bicycle Storage & Repair Center
No greater news could come across as we approach this cold winter. Over 20,000 square feet of warehouse space has been donated for our bike shop; “The Kick Stand”. Project Recycle and Bikes for Tykes are sharing work space at 13796 Compark Blvd in Englewood, Colorado. The space was donated by Compark Partners LLLP thanks to our friend Cynthia Edwards, with The Human Effect.
“So many great things are happening quite rapidly. We are moving at GOD’s speed and we better buckle up for the ride” said our Executive director for 3T Ministry, AJ Stapleton. ” This move takes us out of 8 Storage units in Littleton where we spent almost every Saturday fixing bikes this year. The great views from the storage unit alleys will be missed, but the cold mornings seldom missed,” he added.
Project Recycle will be able to increase the number of volunteer opportunities at our new location. The program currently runs 4 work stations at any given time. We are looking to increase the number of stations to 9 by month’s end. We currently work with 4 Walmarts and accept donations at all Tony’s Markets in Colorado for used bikes. This new space will allow us to take in more bikes from additional Walmarts and other sources.
This opportunity couldn’t come at a better time. We have been receiving numerous request for bikes over the last few days and over the next few weeks we expect to receive requests for the holidays. We are anticipating 400 more bikes being donated by year’s end.
Many Many thanks to all our volunteers who came out, despite the windy weather, to help us move the bikes, helmets, parts and tools to our new bike shop. We had well over 30 volunteers for the move and are so grateful to Tony’s Market for the use of their trucks.
