Congratulations AJ, You’re an Everyday Hero!

This weekend was all about the Tony’s Ride but Monday was all about AJ.

In case you haven’t heard, Mitch Jelniker awarded our founder of Project ReCycle, AJ Stapleton with the Channel 7 Everyday Hero award.

I believe AJ was thoroughly surprised as he walked up from the basement at St. Mark’s Catholic Church to find Mitch waiting for him and a gathering of friends and family. I don’t think there is anyone reading this that really doesn’t know the amount of time, hours, heart and soul that AJ puts into Project ReCycle and 3t Ministry.

But I also know this. AJ is humble and doesn’t ever ask for the credit. He just wants every child that doesn’t have access to a bike to have one.

I also know this. He feels so strongly about all of his volunteers at Project ReCycle. We can’t even start naming them all as we would never want to forget a single one.  But without everyone that has collected bikes, fixed bikes, spread the word, designed artwork, hung posters, licked envelopes, fundraised, came to events such as the one at Comedy Works…without everyone this all wouldn’t continue to come together.

What AJ does for 3t Ministry and Project ReCycle is nothing short of amazing. And he thanks everyone for all you have done to help him make collecting, recycling and donating bikes possible.

Congratulations AJ!  We are so very proud of you & thankful for your commitment to Project ReCycle!

Tony-AJ Stapleton, I Have different kind of bike I would like to donate.. It is a bike built for two, sidebyside, Two 17 speed brand new bikes. An inventer built three of them. My friend painted some out buildings for him, and he gave this interesting bike to him, and my friend gave it to me. Needs to be on a street or parking lot.. Don’t think it will go down a bike path… Needs a cheater bar with small wheels on back of seat to ground level so it won’t tip back going up an incline.. Would go great with yor collection call me for more info, Frank, 303-881-9199 Please

You likely know that Project ReCycle moved in October and we are so very grateful for our beautiful new space.  Last month was just as exciting our founder AJ Stapleton was recognized by Denver Channel 7 as an EveryDay Hero.
